CORE - Commerce Of Relationship
Created by Chika Marvis
geol.mavischikah@gmail.comProject Description
Commerce of Relationship (CORE) is a novel concept that aims to employ digital technology to nurture and protect interpersonal relations and children's welfare. It seeks to encourage parents to develop a strong commitment to the family but also to provide a basic financial safety net for children whose parents may divorce or split up. Unfortunately, many such situations can be acrimonious and children can be the innocent victims especially if the process drags on for a long time. Children of failed relationships show relatively more evidence of delinquency and alcoholism, poor academic achievement, and emotional disorder, in turn degrading societal healthiness and undermining efforts of UN Sustainable Development Goals 3, 4, 5, 8,11, and 16. Good health and Well-Being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, respectively. The essential function of the CORE would be to enable parents to deposit a small sum of money on a monthly basis. The fund created would be used entirely for the benefit of the child if anything should happen to the parents' relationship. If no such problems arise, then the accumulated money could be used for constructive purposes once the child reaches a certain age of 18years and above
Objectives
The aim of this project is to create a prototype application that could be used for demonstration purposes. While there are already financial organisations that offer joint accounts and legal firms that provide services such as prenuptial agreements, they can be difficult to access and expensive to set up. The CORE seeks to strengthen the current arrangements by demonstrating a more convenient and accessible way for parents to invest in their children's future. CORE aims to drive a sense of commitment and foster healthy relationships in societies. The process starts with parents committing to a token sum such as £20 for at least 24 months.
Key Tasks
This project would require the team to design the app from scratch including the graphical presentation and the page navigation. The functional requirements will be developed in collaboration with the client during the startup phase. To demonstrate the app's ability to communicate with backend services such as financial APIs, the team will need to create a simple backend component that allows data to be stored in a database. This will allow complete workflows to be demonstrated such as money being deposited by one parent with both parents having access to the account balance and statements. As further support for families, the app would also maintain a directory of services so that users have access to as much positive support and guidance as possible. This could include: Career and development support Assets and business education Responsible Parenting and therapy sessions Relationship counselling Workshops Deliverables 1. App design 2. Working demonstrable prototype 3. Source code in an appropriate repository
